Professional Profile
I'm currently working as an engineer supporting NASA's autoNGC mission. I'm also the lead developer for Aurora Engineering's Module for Event Driven Operations on Spacecraft (MEDOS) which provides explainable decision autonomy for space missions.
Education
Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering
2023 to 2025 at Johns Hopkins UniversityCourse focus in control systems
Bachelor's Dual Degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics
2017 to 2021 at The University of Maine, Orono
Experience
GNC Flight Software Engineer
2023 to Present at Aurora EngineeringI'm currently working on development, testing, and analysis for the Navigation and Mission Design branch at NASA. I work on the autoNGC and GEONS flight software packages in support of several lunar missions. autoNGC and GEONS provide onboard navigation to spacecraft. My work encompasses flight software and simulation development using C/C++/Python, and mission and navigation performance analysis using MATLAB. I am also the lead developer of MEDOS, which began as a Phase I SBIR in 2022 and has since been tested and flown on MMS to detect radiation belt crossings using MMS's FEEPS instrument.
Instrument Ground Systems Engineer
2021 to 2023 at Aurora EngineeringIn this role I supported ground system development and operations for NASA's MMS/FPI mission in the Geospace Physics Lab at NASA. I contributed to the design, calibration, and testing for a follow-on mission, HERMES/EEA, to launch onboard the lunar gateway. My work included the development of ground system applications to process and calibrate science and engineering data from FPI as well as lab work in ESD labs and clean rooms to test EEA. Once EEA was fully wrapped up and delivered, my role transitioned to support the autoNGC.
